Media

6 Week Roadmap The Biz of Acting Course

CODE OF CONDUCT:

Inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and will result in suspension and removal from class. Inappropriate conduct includes but is not limited to the consumption of drugs or alcohol during class, bringing uninvited guests to class, and inappropriate verbal, physical, or sexual conduct. Discrimination of any kind including racial, religious, or disability.
Additionally, students are asked to help foster a creative and supportive learning environment without distractions. Students are asked to support their fellow classmates by abstaining from eating in class and talking while students or teachers are talking.

Attendance
We do not allow more than two absences. Students missing more than two classes will be removed from the course and will not be promoted to the next course level

Tardiness
Prompt attendance is expected from all students. Arriving late requires the instructor to explain exercises and concepts again and is considered too disruptive to be allowed. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, you will not be admitted to class and you will be marked as absent.

Leaving Early
Students are expected to be present for the entire class. Leaving more than 30 minutes before the scheduled end time may be considered an absence if the student was not present for all class concepts or did not participate in all required exercises. The student is required to inform the instructor of any such early departures ahead of time, unless in the case of an emergency.

Make-Up Policies
We do not offer makeup classes for missed sessions.

Learning Aids
Students with alternative learning styles need to get written permission from thebizofacting.com if they wish to use PDAs, audio recording devices, or other learning aids in class. Students approved to use such devices must agree to our specific terms of use. Students requiring special learning aids in class must contact the Director of Operations Dylan Mooney. Thebizofacting.com reserves the right to request medical documentation to support your request.

Class/Workshop Cancellation Policy:

(5) You are entitled to a full refund for any class or workshop ten (10) or more days prior to the first day of the class or workshop. You are entitled to a 50% refund four to nine (4-9) days prior to the first day of the class or workshop. There will be NO refund given for cancellations less than three days (72 hours) prior to the first day of the class or workshop. This applies to all classes and workshops. The Biz of Acting (also known as “thebizofacting.com”) owner reserves the right to delay the start of any class or workshop pursuant to the schedule of the instructor.

(5.1) Class deposits are non-refundable.

(6) Your space in a thebizofacting.com course is NOT TRANSFERABLE without thebizofacting.com approval. It is the owner of thebizofacting.com or representatives of thebizofacting.com’s prerogative to approve or not approve an actor to whom you might want to transfer your spot.

MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT
You will pay in advance online via credit card (other payment provisions may be negotiated. Please contact thebizofacting.com directly) The Biz of Acting is a talent training service. This is not a talent agency contract. Only a talent agent licensed pursuant to section 1700.5 of the labor code may engage in the occupation of procuring, offering, promising, or attempting to procure employment or engagements for an artist. Representatives of thebizofacting.com are prohibited by law from offering or attempting to obtain auditions or employment for you. It may only provide you with training. For more information, consult Chapter 4.5 (commencing with Section 1701) of Part 6 of Division 2 of the labor code. A dispute arising out of the performance of the contract by the talent service that is not resolved to the satisfaction of the artist should be referred to a local consumer affairs department or local law enforcement, as appropriate.

YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL MEMBERSHIP:
By paying with a credit card, and entering your address, name, and phone number, you have entered into a contract with The Biz of Acting company to provide you with the option for training at our facilities or online via Zoom. For purposes of this section, business days are Monday through Friday. You may NOT obtain a refund after the 3-day cancellation period described above (in paragraph 5 of section 1703 of Labor Code 4.5) has expired.

GENERAL RULES:
Classes are scheduled in advance. If an instructor has to cancel or delay the start of class you will be notified by email. By submitting information, the actor agrees to release The Biz of Acting Owner/representatives of any liability.
